About Us

A musical delight – a highly polished performance by the St. Denys’ Handbell Ringers from Stanford in the Vale…certainly brought an abundance of Christmas cheer to the proceedings” Faringdon Royal British Legion report, Faringdon Folly.

About Us

The group is based in Stanford in the Vale, in the Vale of the White Horse in south-east Oxfordshire. We love providing musical entertainment through playing handbells throughout the year – bells are not just for Christmas!

We enjoy performing at a range of events and for varied audiences, such as playing at the Stanford in the Vale summer village festival and Christmas Carol Service, giving talks, demonstrations or performances at WI meetings, playing at weddings, and performing at the National Trust’s Buscot Park. Particular highlights for the group since being founded in 1993 have been playing on BBC1’s ‘Good Morning with Anne and Nick’, on Radio Oxford and on Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’, and as part of ‘Wantage Presents’.

The ringers all belong to the national association of handbell ringers – the Handbell Ringers of Great Britain (HRGB) – and enjoy attending HRGB rallies and events which enables us to meet and ring with other handbell ringers.

Since 1993, the group has passed more than £8,500 to various charities as a result of the various fundraising activities that have been undertaken as well as the generosity of individual members. Visit our Fundraising page to find out more.
